Emerald Riverside Sulfur Spring

In 1954, mineral flowers were found blooming on the banks of the Agano River, and a well was dug to open this comparatively young spa; the area's name was even changed to "Sakihana," meaning blooming flowers. Colorless when drawn, the water turns a clear yellow-green in the bath, leaving white mineral flakes on spouts and rails. A toasted, almost smoky sulfur aroma and a slick, weakly alkaline feel make it a favorite for sulfur-spring lovers.

Why onsen are considered good for Asthma

The benefits of an onsen vary by spring type. Certain spring types are traditionally considered good for Asthma, and the corresponding indications are listed in the legally required onsen analysis sheets. my Onsen Techo ranks the onsen best suited to your symptom and area based on analysis-sheet data, which is mandated for display under Article 18 of Japan's Hot Spring Act. Each onsen page shows mineral visualisations, bathing tips and booking options.
