Shuzenji Onsen Mixed Source
Analysis UnverifiedShuzenji Onsen traces its origin to the monk Kobo Daishi, said to have struck a rock with his tokko and released hot water. Today the Shuzenji Onsen Mixed Source gathers wells scattered across Shiraida, Koyama and Minamiyama, blending them into one gentle alkaline flow. Its smooth touch lingers on the skin, soothing travelers who steep beside the murmuring Katsura River.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
Because the source exceeds 60°C, baths are cooled with water to around 41-42°C. The mild alkaline water is gentle, but limit soaks to about ten minutes and alternate with half-body bathing.
With pH 8.6 and 63.2 mg/kg of metasilicic acid, this simple alkaline spring is traditionally associated with silky skin. Its low-irritation water may support deep relaxation after a long day of work or travel, inviting an unhurried soak.
Avoid bathing with acute illness or serious heart conditions. Drink water before and after bathing, and avoid lingering too long in the hot water.
