Yachi Onsen No. 2 Spring
Analysis UnverifiedThis spring feeds the "upper bath" of a healing retreat below the Hakkoda Mountains said to date back some 400 years. Fresh water enters the tub without long exposure to air, so it stays crystal clear down to the wooden floor while large white mineral flakes drift through it. Though classed as a simple spring, it carries a distinct sulfur aroma and is the warming partner to the lukewarm lower bath.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
The aroma typical of sulfur springs, with circulatory and antibacterial effects.
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
The tub runs warm at around 40-42°C, so limit full immersion to about 10 minutes and alternate with the lukewarm lower bath to enjoy a long session without getting chilled.
At 43.4°C with just 0.336 g/kg of total minerals, this gentle simple spring is easy on the skin and invites deep relaxation, while 146.1 mg/kg of sulfate helps the warmth linger for a restorative moment of rejuvenation.
Water near the spout can be hot, so check the temperature first; take care with sudden temperature changes when alternating with the lukewarm bath, and note that sulfur may discolor metal jewelry.
