Analysis UnverifiedThe Koganezaki Furofushi Onsen source gushed up in 1970 when a well was bored 200 meters beneath the shore of Koganezaki, and its name expresses the wish that those who rest here will neither age nor weaken. Clear at the moment it emerges, the water oxidizes into a rust-red hue as its iron meets the air, while its dense salts wrap the body and let warmth linger deep inside. It soothes travelers who want to unwind slowly while the sun sinks into the Sea of Japan.

As a hypertonic strong salt spring with 25.86 g/kg of dissolved matter, it can tire the body quickly, so keep each soak to about ten minutes with breaks and water in between. Its iron can stain white towels, so darker ones are safer.
With 13,460 mg/kg of chloride, this strong salt spring leaves a fine saline film on the skin that slows the evaporation of sweat, offering restorative warmth long after bathing. Its 21.1 mg/kg of ferrous iron is also traditionally associated with rejuvenation on chilly, weary days.
Avoid long soaks in this hypertonic strong salt spring, and refrain from bathing during acute illness or with serious heart or lung conditions. Rinse off the salt afterward if your skin is sensitive.
