Shinyu Onsen No. 3 Gensen
Analysis UnverifiedSaid to have opened in 1720, Shinyu Onsen is one of the Kurikoma Five Springs on the upper Sanhasama River and was long called a "phantom spring." Its dormant source was revived in 2006 and again soothes mountain hikers. Clear and cool as it emerges, the water turns milky with a sulfur scent once warmed, filling the tub with fine white flakes, a source for those who enjoy watching a spring transform in mountain quiet.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
The source of the distinctive sulfur smell. Dilates blood vessels via skin and inhalation to strongly boost circulation.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
The 28.6°C source is heated, so water near the spout runs hot; adjust with cool spring water before soaking, keep the room ventilated for hydrogen sulfide, and rinse lightly afterwards.
With 9.6 mg/kg of free hydrogen sulfide, this sulfur water is traditionally associated with Immune system stimulation, while 781 mg/kg of sulfate may help Relieve pain, suiting legs tired from hiking or stiff shoulders.
Contains hydrogen sulfide, so keep the area ventilated and avoid long soaks; heated water can exceed 46°C outdoors, so adjust the temperature first and rinse if your skin is sensitive.
