Komaki Onsen
Analysis UnverifiedKomaki Onsen was struck in 1971, when drilling for spa tourism tapped water about 1 km beneath Komakiyama in Misawa. It gushes at 43.4°C with an alkaline pH of 9.1, clear and dotted with fine white mineral threads. Mild yet rich in metasilicic acid, the Komaki source leaves skin soft and smooth, soothing travelers who want to linger and unwind in Aomori's northern countryside.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
The alkaline pH 9.1 water lifts away skin oils, so moisturize after long soaks; with the source at 43.4°C, a slow soak in a cooler tub is the most pleasant way to warm up.
With an alkaline pH of 9.1 and 181.6 mg/kg of metasilicic acid, this smooth, slippery water is traditionally associated with silky skin, and its gentle simple-spring character may support deep relaxation at the end of a day.
Alkaline water can dry the skin, so moisturize after bathing. People in acute illness or with serious heart conditions should refrain or consult a doctor.
