Kaminomiya Onsen Kagetora no Yu
Analysis UnverifiedNamed after the warlord Uesugi Kagetora, who met his end at Samegao Castle, the Kagetora no Yu source was drilled in 2017 in the hills of Jinguji, Myoko, below the castle ruins. Piped from the slopes at about 39°C, its dense salty water steeps into the skin and lets warmth linger long after bathing, while iron stains the rocks reddish brown. It suits travelers tracing Sengoku-era history who want to warm up to the core on chilly days.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
Undissociated boric acid with antibacterial action that keeps the skin surface clean.
Salinity comparable to seawater. The salt film traps heat for outstanding warmth ("hot bath spring").
Salt forms a thin film on the skin, retaining heat after bathing. Helps with poor circulation.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
With over 10 g/kg of dissolved minerals, this salty water warms the body quickly, so keep full soaks short, mix in half-body bathing, and rinse lightly afterward if your skin is sensitive.
With 5759 mg/kg of chloride, a thin salt film is said to seal in restorative warmth long after bathing, and the lasting heat may help relieve pain from stiff shoulders and chilled limbs.
The concentrated salt water can be tiring, so avoid long soaks. Those in acute illness or with serious heart or kidney conditions should refrain or consult a doctor.
