Daimaru Ryokan Source
Analysis UnverifiedNagayu Onsen gushes along the Seri River at the eastern foot of the Kuju mountains in Naoiri, Taketa, and is celebrated as one of Japan's leading carbonated-spring towns, long praised as water that works both when drunk and when soaked in at length. The Daimaru Ryokan source rises at 46.8°C and carries a rich 4,480 mg/kg of minerals, led by 2,160 mg of bicarbonate and 263 mg of magnesium, plus 735 mg of free carbon dioxide. Its greenish, cloudy water leaves rust-brown scale-like deposits on tub edges and spouts.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A "beauty spring" that gently emulsifies dead skin cells, leaving skin smooth after bathing.
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
Absorbed through the skin to gently promote peripheral circulation.
Transdermal absorption gently supports skin hydration and muscle relaxation.
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
The source emerges at 46.8°C, and its carbon dioxide warms the body from within, so linger in a tub cooled to around 40°C. The iron-rich water can stain white towels, so rinse lightly afterward.
With 2,160 mg/kg of bicarbonate, the water gently lifts dull skin and leaves a silky skin feel, while 735 mg of free carbon dioxide is traditionally associated with better circulation, warming the body even in a lukewarm tub and supporting rejuvenation after a long journey.
The water is mineral-rich and warming, so take breaks during long soaks. Those with acute illness, serious heart disease or kidney failure should avoid bathing.
