Ramune Onsen
Analysis UnverifiedRamune Onsen is the emblematic source of Nagayu Onsen, one of Japan's best-known carbonated-spring villages, named for the bubbles that fizz like ramune soda. Once privately owned, it is said to have gushed naturally at about 184 liters per minute. At just over 31°C, the water coats the skin in silvery bubbles, and a gentle warmth lingers in the body after leaving the bath, rewarding bathers who steep slowly in its fizz.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
Bubbles cling to the skin and dilate blood vessels — the "heart spring." Warms the body even at lukewarm temperatures.
A "beauty spring" that gently emulsifies dead skin cells, leaving skin smooth after bathing.
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
Transdermal absorption gently supports skin hydration and muscle relaxation.
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
At 31.5°C the water feels cool at first, but staying still for 10 to 20 minutes lets bubbles cover the body and warmth slowly build. In cold seasons, alternate with a warmer bath, and sit near the spout for the most bubbles.
With 1,400 mg/kg of free carbon dioxide, the water is traditionally associated with widening blood vessels and boosting circulation, supporting rejuvenation even at a cool temperature. Resting quietly in 31.5°C water near the neutral body threshold may also invite deep relaxation.
As the water is cool, long soaks can chill the body. It is rich in carbon dioxide, so avoid keeping your face near the surface in poorly ventilated spaces.
