Nigoriyu
Analysis UnverifiedNigoriyu bubbles up beside the Seri River in Nagayu Onsen, a village famed for carbonated springs, and was once known as the "high-temperature Ramune spring." Clear at the source, its iron content oxidizes into a tea-brown cloud in the bath, giving the spring its name. Around 40°C, the water lingers on the skin with fine bubbles and a silky, clinging feel, suiting bathers who want a long, gentle soak.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A "beauty spring" that gently emulsifies dead skin cells, leaving skin smooth after bathing.
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
Bubbles cling to the skin and dilate blood vessels — the "heart spring." Warms the body even at lukewarm temperatures.
Transdermal absorption gently supports skin hydration and muscle relaxation.
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
At 40.9°C the water is close to body temperature, so a slow 15 to 20 minute soak lets the carbon dioxide's warming effect build. Bubbles gather near the spout, and the water cools slightly farther away. Rinse off the iron lightly afterward.
Holding 1,010 mg/kg of free carbon dioxide, the water is traditionally associated with improved circulation, warming the body even at a mild temperature and supporting rejuvenation. With 211 mg/kg of metasilicic acid and bicarbonate, it may also leave silky skin after bathing.
Because the water is rich in carbon dioxide, avoid keeping your face close to the surface in poorly ventilated spaces. Its iron content can stain towels and swimwear brown.
