Nanpeidai Onsen
Analysis UnverifiedThe Bato Onsen area of Nakagawa sits among the clear Naka River and the wooded Yamizo hills. Nanpeidai Onsen has been used on its hilltop site since 1973, and in 1987 a 1,030 m well tapped a plentiful new alkaline flow. Its silky pH 9.6 water is known locally as a "beauty bath" and is also used for drinking cures.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
The source emerges at 43.9°C. At pH 9.6 it softens the skin's surface, so soak slowly and avoid hard scrubbing; moisturize soon after bathing to keep the smooth feel.
With pH 9.6 alkalinity plus 49.1 mg/kg of carbonate and 97.4 mg/kg of bicarbonate, this gentle simple spring is loved for silky skin and invites deep relaxation.
Alkaline water can dry the skin with long soaks or hard scrubbing; moisturize afterward and drink water before and after bathing. Follow the facility's guidance for drinking the water.
