Nukabira Onsen (Nukabira Onsen Hotel source)
Analysis UnverifiedNukabira Gensenkyo spreads near Lake Nukabira on the east side of Daisetsuzan National Park, where each inn has its own source and all offer free-flowing water. Nukabira Onsen Hotel opened in 1929 as the Ryokan Fukushimakan, and the founding family still tends its bath. The source, which flows naturally on the grounds, is clear and nearly tasteless and odorless. With a balance of chloride and bicarbonate, it warms the body while feeling smooth on the skin. Two tubs, hot and medium, let you choose your temperature and linger in the mountain water.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
There are hot and medium tubs, and the hot one is very hot. Start in the medium tub, avoid long soaks and take breaks between dips.
With 241.5 mg/kg chloride, this water offers restorative warmth that lingers after bathing, while 288.2 mg/kg bicarbonate and 124.1 mg/kg metasilicic acid suit silky skin, ideal for warming up at a mountain inn in the cold season.
The source exceeds 50°C and the hot tub can reach around 45°C. Check the temperature before entering and take care to avoid dizziness.
