Sakihana Onsen No. 6 Source
Analysis UnverifiedIn 1954, mineral flowers were found blooming on the banks of the Agano River, and a well was dug to open this comparatively young spa; the area's name was even changed to "Sakihana," meaning blooming flowers. Colorless when drawn, the water turns a clear yellow-green in the bath, leaving white mineral flakes on spouts and rails. A toasted, almost smoky sulfur aroma and a slick, weakly alkaline feel make it a favorite for sulfur-spring lovers.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
The aroma typical of sulfur springs, with circulatory and antibacterial effects.
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
At 46.3°C the source can keep free-flowing baths above 42°C, so alternate short dips with half-body soaks on the ledge. Remove silver jewelry, as sulfur tarnishes it.
With 19.8 mg/kg of hydrosulfide and 3.5 mg/kg of free hydrogen sulfide, this sulfur spring is traditionally associated with Immune system stimulation, while 284.5 mg/kg of chloride may support Restorative warmth after bathing.
It contains hydrogen sulfide, so avoid long soaks in poorly ventilated spaces. Check the hot water before entering, drink water often, and rinse off if your skin is sensitive.
