Shingin no Yu
Analysis UnverifiedSounkyo, the gorge of the Ishikari River, is one of Hokkaido's great mountain spa areas, fed by hot water from the volcanic Daisetsuzan range. Shingin no Yu was classified in a 2004 analysis as a simple spring with pH 6.4 and 0.514 g/kg of total components. Sodium and bicarbonate dominate, alongside 79.1 mg/kg of metasilicic acid and 80.8 mg/kg of free carbon dioxide. Gentle in composition yet carrying a faint sulfur scent, sometimes taking on a bluish tint in the bath, it is a quiet, smooth water much like the gorge itself.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Absorbed through the skin to gently promote peripheral circulation.
The aroma typical of sulfur springs, with circulatory and antibacterial effects.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
As a neutral, low-irritation simple spring it suits long, relaxed soaks; enjoy the faint sulfur scent in a well-ventilated outdoor bath, and drink water afterward.
With 80.8 mg/kg of free carbon dioxide and 193.6 mg/kg of bicarbonate, this soft water warms the body gently, easing muscle tension and inviting deep relaxation; its neutral pH makes it an easy introduction to balneotherapy.
Though gentle, long soaks in hot water can cause dizziness or dehydration; adjust bathing time to your condition and avoid bathing after drinking or during acute illness.
