Yama no Kami Onsen Fuku-no-yu
Analysis UnverifiedHanamaki Minami Onsenkyo strings seven spas along the Toyosawa River south of Hanamaki. Yama no Kami Onsen, midway along it, takes its name from a shrine to the mountain deity. Fuku-no-yu is one of its wells, pumping a generous 226 liters a minute at about 42°C. Clear, faintly sulfurous and alkaline at pH 9.3, the water has a silky, clinging feel, made for unhurried soaks to the sound of the river.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
Mild antibacterial action keeps the skin clean. Trace transdermal absorption supports tooth and bone health.
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
A rare radioactive spring where trace radiation absorbed via inhalation and skin is expected to stimulate cells (the "hormesis effect").
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
At pH 9.3 the water feels slippery on the skin; stroke rather than scrub, moisturize afterward, and watch your step on slick bath edges and floors.
Alkaline at pH 9.3 with 215.2 mg/kg of sodium, this mild water may support silky skin by softening the outer layer, and a long, lukewarm soak invites deep relaxation.
Avoid bathing during acute illness or with serious heart conditions. The alkaline water makes floors and edges slippery, so move slowly, and moisturize after bathing.
