Uzura Onsen
Analysis UnverifiedUzura Onsen is drawn by pump at 160 liters per minute from a well in the farmland of Uzura-cho, Atsusawabe. A 1994 analysis by the Hokkaido Institute of Public Health classified the source as an alkaline simple spring at 30.0°C and pH 8.5. Clear, odorless and tasteless, it carries sodium, chloride, bicarbonate and 122.7 mg/kg of metasilicic acid, soothing the skin with a quiet, unassuming character that suits this modest farming town in southern Hokkaido.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
The source emerges at only 30.0°C, so check the bath temperature before settling in. At pH 8.5 the water is mild; two or three soaks of about ten minutes each, followed by moisturizing, keep skin comfortable.
With a pH of 8.5 and 122.7 mg/kg of metasilicic acid, the water may support silky skin, while its mild simple-spring profile invites deep relaxation after a long drive through rural Hokkaido.
The source is only 30.0°C and must be heated for bathing. Avoid bathing when unwell or after drinking, and take care not to soak too long.
