Bankei Onsen Mixed Spring (H2, Kumiai, Kawara and Kokuyu Wells)
Analysis UnverifiedSaid to have soothed people since the Ainu era, Bankei's water once welled up naturally along the Osaru River. Today natural riverside springs and wells drilled in the Showa and Heisei eras are blended and piped by the town; the 70°C water is cooled to bathing heat, staying clear and soft on the skin.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
Absorbed through the skin to gently promote peripheral circulation.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
The 70.2°C source is cooled with water before flowing in, yet the hot tub and inlet area can run hot. Pour water over yourself first and start in the cooler tub; the neutral, low-irritation water suits sensitive skin for longer soaks.
Though a mild simple spring at 1.049 g/kg total, its 284.5 mg/kg sulfate and 67.6 mg/kg calcium leave a lingering warmth, and the gentle pH 7.4 water invites deep relaxation to the sound of the river.
The source exceeds 70°C and some tubs run hot, so check the temperature before entering. Avoid long soaks, stay hydrated, and do not drink the water.
