Nuruyu
Analysis UnverifiedThe Nuruyu source has been known since the Kyoho era (1716-1735), welling up at about 920 m on the eastern foot of Mt. Azuma-Kofuji. This acidic sulfate water carries iron and aluminum, emerging colorless and turning yellowish-white after a day. Though only 31.8°C, it lets warmth linger slowly in the body, leaving skin cool and smooth. It suits summer bathers and anyone who loves long, unhurried soaks in a water traditionally prized for the eyes.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
Strong astringent action that tightens skin. A key component of acidic springs, suited to oily or acne-prone skin.
Oxidized iron. Tints the water reddish-brown, lending a visually dramatic, "powerful" bath feel.
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
An iron-rich spring whose water turns yellow-brown to red-brown when exposed to air. Strong heat retention.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
At 31.8°C you can soak for 30 minutes or more without overheating. As the water is acidic at pH 2.9, sensitive skin may need a light freshwater rinse afterward; warm up in a heated bath if you feel chilled.
With pH 2.9 acidity and 646.5 mg/kg of sulfate, this water has a firming feel and has traditionally been used for eye and skin complaints. Acidic springs are associated with immune system stimulation, and long, lukewarm soaks make it ideal summer balneotherapy.
Acidic at pH 2.9; people with sensitive skin or mucous membranes, especially photosensitivity, should take care and rinse with fresh water if irritated.
