Kamakura-buro Mixed Source (Hira no Yu and Tera no Yu)
Analysis UnverifiedThis blend joins Hira no Yu from Arai-gawara, regarded as the heart of Shibu Onsen's waters, with Tera no Yu rising in the grounds of Onsen-ji temple, and has long been piped communally through the town. White mineral flakes drift in the mildly acidic water, whose faint salty-bitter taste recalls Shibu's old bathing heritage. It tones the skin while sulfate warmth seeps deep, suiting those savoring classic Shibu water or a slow, healing stay.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
At 54.4°C the source runs hot, so pour water over yourself and soak a few minutes at a time. Its pH 5.3 mild acidity may sting sensitive skin; rinse lightly and moisturize afterwards.
Rich in 378 mg/kg of sulfate, this water is traditionally associated with helping Relieve pain, while 260 mg/kg of chloride may support Restorative warmth, suiting stiff shoulders or a chilled body on a cold night.
The 54°C source is hot; avoid long soaks, bathe briefly if you have heart or blood-pressure concerns, and rinse with fresh water if your skin is sensitive.
