Ginga no Yu, Ryusei no Yu and Hoshi no Yu (Blend)
Analysis UnverifiedGinga no Yu, Ryusei no Yu and Hoshi no Yu are three springs that gush naturally in the national forest toward Momijidani at Sounkyo Onsen, and the blend of these three sources is piped in together. Sounkyo is a spa set in a gorge of sheer Daisetsuzan cliffs, and this blend, though hotter than 70°C, is neutral and gentle, carrying a faint hydrogen sulfide scent and an eggy taste. Its slippery touch leaves the body light, a soothing sulfur spring for anyone who wants to linger amid the gorge's wild scenery.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
The aroma typical of sulfur springs, with circulatory and antibacterial effects.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
This neutral, gentle water suits long, easy soaks. Remove silver jewelry because of the sulfur, and note the spout can run hot since the source exceeds 70°C; check the temperature first and drink water afterward.
A neutral pH 7.1 sulfur spring traditionally associated with immune system stimulation, it also contains 122.6 mg/kg of metasilicic acid and 178.2 mg/kg of bicarbonate, which may support silky skin and a pleasant, smooth feel after bathing.
Take care near the hot spout, avoid overheating from long soaks and keep the bath ventilated because of the hydrogen sulfide scent.
