Ichihara No. 2 and No. 3 Wells (mixed)
Analysis UnverifiedNamed after a peak resembling Switzerland's Weisshorn, this spring in the hills of Kyowa was discovered in 1968 by a borehole drilled to explore metal ore deposits. As the flow declined, a 731 m No. 2 well was drilled in 1975 and an 848 m No. 3 well in 1979, and the two are now blended. The alkaline chloride-sulfate water leaves skin feeling smooth, suiting drivers on the national highway who want to soak away a long journey.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
At pH 8.5 the alkaline water smooths the skin but also removes oils, so moisturize after bathing. Start in the cooler bath before moving to the hotter one.
With 764.9 mg/kg of chloride, a thin salt film is said to keep the body warm long after bathing, offering restorative warmth, while 335.8 mg/kg of sulfate and the alkaline pH may help leave silky skin.
Avoid long soaks in the hotter bath and rest often. Those in acute illness or with serious heart, kidney or blood-pressure conditions should refrain or consult a doctor; avoid bathing right after drinking or eating.
