In the Fukuchi Onsen area of Okuhida, Takayama, one minute on foot from the Fukuchi Yurimizaka bus stop, about 70 minutes by Nohi Bus from JR Takayama Station. The heavy beams and pillars, crafted by Hida carpenters, give it the feel of a wealthy mountain-village farmhouse. The sodium chloride and bicarbonate spring flows straight from the source (kakenagashi) at 63.1°C, and bicarbonate springs are known for a crisp feel after the bath. A private open-air bath adds to the appeal for families or couples who want to soak slowly.
