Kongo Sakuseisui (Unazuki Onsen Dai 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11-goi, Hakufunsen)
Analysis VerifiedThis naturally gushing mixed source is located about 7km upstream from Unazuki Onsen, nestled within the Kurobe Gorge's Kuronagi Onsen area. Since its water was first drawn through wooden pipes in Taisho 12 (1923), it has continuously supplied a generous 2,100 liters per minute of hot spring water to the Unazuki Onsen town. Renowned as Japan's clearest, its soft waters gently embrace the skin and offer a restorative warmth that permeates deep into the body. It is highly recommended for those seeking deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and a chance to forget daily fatigue amidst the blessings of magnificent nature.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
Mild antibacterial action keeps the skin clean. Trace transdermal absorption supports tooth and bone health.
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
Because the source exceeds 90°C, temperatures are carefully adjusted at each facility. Begin with brief 3-to-10-minute dips. Since the mildly alkaline water is remarkably gentle on the skin, avoid rinsing off with tap water afterward to let the minerals absorb naturally.
The mildly alkaline water (pH 7.83) gently clears away dead skin cells, while 151 mg/kg of metasilicic acid provides natural hydration. Enhanced by a faint hint of hydrogen sulfide, it deeply warms the body to soothe poor circulation, fatigue, and chronic muscle stiffness.
Avoid bathing if you have acute illnesses, active tuberculosis, severe heart conditions, or severe anemia. Refrain from soaking immediately before or after meals, or after consuming alcohol.
