Ohara Onsen
Analysis VerifiedThe Ohara Onsen source, which began flowing in 2004, is a relatively new discovery nestled in the quiet mountain village of Ohara, Kyoto. This precious spring water is exclusively available at just three inns: Oharasansou, Ohara no Sato, and Seryo. Located near famed temples like Sanzen-in and Jikko-in, its clear, gentle waters offer deep relaxation for body and soul, surrounded by the capital's rich history and nature.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
Mild antibacterial action keeps the skin clean. Trace transdermal absorption supports tooth and bone health.
A trace component with gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
A rarely-found trace element with a gentle tightening action.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
With a gentle temperature of 26.0°C, this lukewarm spring is ideal for long, relaxing soaks without straining the body. The mildly alkaline water is soft on the skin, leaving you feeling refreshed afterward. Taking your time to soak allows for deep mental and physical relaxation.
Although a low-temperature spring at 26.0°C, its main component, hydrogen carbonate ions (222.3 mg/kg), is expected to have a smoothing effect on the skin. Its mild alkalinity makes it perfect for those with sensitive skin or for days when you want a long, leisurely bath. It is also suitable for therapeutic stays to alleviate chronic muscle/joint pain and poor circulation.
Please avoid bathing during active stages of illness, especially with a fever, or if you are extremely weak. It is also contraindicated for individuals with severe heart or kidney disease, or active tuberculosis.
