When the hotel opened in 1997, this spring was tapped as the primary source for the grand bathhouse "Bijin" (named after Jozankei's founder, Teissan), generously discharging 200 liters per minute. The water's colorless clarity is graced with a delicate sulfur aroma, inviting guests into a naturally flowing thermal sanctuary.

This neutral-pH spring (6.85) is remarkably mineral-rich, containing 1,568 mg of chloride ions per kilogram. A fine saline veil envelops your skin, trapping warmth even after you emerge—ideal for those battling chilled extremities and poor peripheral circulation. The waters gently nourish parched skin while soothing away daily fatigue and stress.
Avoid bathing if you have acute fever, active tuberculosis, or severe heart or lung conditions. This spring water is not suitable for drinking.
