Yasuragi no Sato Yamakuni Gensen
Analysis VerifiedOnce beloved by the local community as "Morizane Onsen," this spring was reborn in 2003 as "Yasuragi no Sato Yamakuni." Gushing from 1,000 meters underground at the foot of Mt. Hiko in Yamakuni, the Yasuragi no Sato Yamakuni Gensen is a gentle simple spring nurtured by the rich nature of Oku-Yabakei. Its mildly alkaline water, with a pH of 7.9, is exceptionally soft on the skin and minimally irritating, making it suitable for everyone from children to the elderly.
The bar length shows how abundant each component is compared to thresholds that make it "distinctive" (therapeutic spring standards, beauty spring criteria, etc.).
A natural moisturizer also used in skincare lotions. Forms a thin veil on the skin to reduce moisture loss after bathing.
A rare radioactive spring where trace radiation absorbed via inhalation and skin is expected to stimulate cells (the "hormesis effect").
Absorbed through the skin to gently promote peripheral circulation.
Scores are calculated from mineral analysis data based on the Mineral Spring Analysis Guidelines (Ministry of Environment, Japan). They are unrelated to facility atmosphere or service quality.
▸Note
The temperature, pH and component values shown here are based on the hot spring analysis (source). Actual values in the bath may differ depending on heating, dilution, recycling and filtration. Please check current usage status at the facility.
The spring temperature is a cool 31.8°C, so the baths are heated. As a gentle, mildly alkaline simple spring, a long, leisurely soak is recommended. It's rich in metasilicic acid, which moisturizes the skin, so gently pat yourself dry after bathing rather than rubbing vigorously.
The mildly alkaline water, with a pH of 7.9, gently removes dead skin cells, while a rich 166.0 mg/kg of metasilicic acid supports skin metabolism, promising a "silky skin" feel post-bath. This gentle spring quality guides the mind and body into "deep relaxation," making it ideal for those seeking to relieve daily fatigue.
Please be aware of the general contraindications common to all hot springs. Avoid bathing during active phases of illness or if you are unwell. While the spring is gentle, be mindful of the strain from prolonged bathing.
